1. Heredity

Hair thinning and baldness can be a problem that is passed down from generation to generation. It’s one of the worst things a parent can pass to their child, but all too often, it is inherited.

2. Medical Condition

There are many medication conditions that cause hair loss. For instance, the thyroid can cause hair to be fall out or thin, as can issues like cancer and menopause. In some of these cases, hair loss is reversible when there is an underlying condition that can be addressed.

3. Abuse to the Hair

There are many medications that mess with hormone levels, among other things, and this causes hair follicles to shed the hair. Chemotherapy is known to cause hair to fall out. Thankfully, when the medications are stopped, the hair normally grows back without issue.

6. Poor Diet and Lacking Nutrition

A diet that doesn’t provide the body with the vitamins, minerals and iron that it needs may choose to show the deficiency by losing hair. The hair and nails both need nutrition to keep the growing and strong. When the body is deficient in vitamin D, vitamin K, vitamin B, and iron; it can affect the hair growth.

If a person starts noticing that they have a problem with hair loss, they need to see their doctor right away. Hair loss can be an easy fix like changing a medication. If it is a hereditary issue, there are other options available to reverse the hands of time. It is normal to lose some hair as a person ages, but if you’re losing more than 20 strands per day, you need to be evaluated by a doctor.
