Top 4 Inspiring Reasons to find your Christian Church

Most Christians believe that their salvation is not based upon their church attendance but by what is in their heart. However, attending a positive church environment can have many benefits and be a valuable aspect to your life.

Church creates Community

Fellowship is an important aspect of any Christian’s life. Without regular church attendance, it can be difficult to find like-minded people to pray with, discuss religious issues with, or who share the same values. If you are married with children, it can be difficult to find other families to spend time with, or even to find babysitters whom you trust with your children.

“Attending the right church can help you build relationships with other Christians, create lasting friendships, and build a network of people who share your values,” said Liberty Church.

Positive Church Environment fights Depression

A large study that observed over 9,000 people across Europe was published in American Journal of Epidemiology. The Daily Mail reports that “They found that joining a religious organization was the best way of combating depression.”

Another study that was conducted over fourteen years in Canada had similar findings, and was published in the Canadian Journal of Psychiatry. According to Canada.com, this study found that “attending religious services at least monthly acts as a buffer against major depression.”

This circles back to the first point because the researchers believe that being a part of the positive community that church provides plays a role in reducing depression.

Encourages Ethics and Morals

The media inundates us with negative messages daily. It’s not only children who are susceptible to negative influences, teens and adults are also. Being in a regular environment that promotes morals and values reminds us all to behave with integrity. Spending time with people who hold strong morals helps us maintain our own.

Routine and Commitment

Keeping a routine is crucial when raising kids. But, it’s also important for adults. It helps give us guidelines to manage our time with. Having a routine keeps us on top of our priorities in life, and is conducive to better organization.

When raising children, we need to teach them about commitment, and what it means to be committed to something. As a member of a church, we have made the decision to devote time to an organization we believe in. From there, we can find opportunities to volunteer to help with outreach activities, any charities the church supports, and to help our fellow church members when they need it.

There’s a Christian church out there that’s right for you. And, when you find it, you will feel like you’ve come home.
