Top IT Solutions Every Company Needs

0

Every company generates data and every company has a need for its employees to be connected by a single, coherent network. As technology continues to advance, the IT needs of companies are also starting to change. In order to compete, companies need to stay up to date on the latest solutions that will give them a competitive edge while also keeping the costs of doing business as low as possible.

Cloud Computing Solutions

PC Magazine defines cloud computing as the ability to store and recover information from a third-party server through a secure Internet connection. While that is the simplest way to explain cloud computing, it is actually a much more robust solution than that.

A small business that utilizes the cloud would not need to invest in an expensive computer network with servers and miles of cabling. A cloud solution would also allow the small business to avoid paying extra for IT staffing. All a small business would really need to sustain a cloud network is a wireless network connection in its office. From there, workers could access the complete company network no matter where they are.

A cloud solution also allows businesses to have satellite locations all over the world and allow everyone access to the same network. The cloud solution has also been mixed with VoIP phone systems to create a solution that allows a phone system that can be accessed by employees from any location in the world. A cloud network is an IT solution that every company needs and can benefit from.

Analytics For Web Exposure

As Forbes Magazine points out, analytical software for websites is becoming much more than just a way to count visitors to a website. Analytics is becoming a powerful IT tool that companies are using to map changes to their Internet sites and their intranet sites as well.

Analytics can tell an IT department which parts of the company are using which sections of the intranet and make the appropriate changes. By analyzing analytical software, an IT group can also determine the bandwidth needs of a company website and make any projections that may have to do with altering the website or even moving it to a more robust host.

IT Governance

The concept of IT governance is something relatively new and CIO Magazine defines it as the process of altering IT functionality to meet business needs. IT governance is one of the many new business management processes that are being used to streamline organizations and allow them to be more accountable to customers and shareholders.

When implementing a system if IT governance, the IT professionals in a company look at the dynamic of how the IT systems supports the needs of the company. The IT group also looks at how the needs of the organization, its shareholders, and its customers should be driving advances in IT architecture and development.

For example, if customers indicate that there is inefficiencies in the company’s online ordering system, then the IT governance system would kick in and analyze the current process and make recommendations to improve it. IT governance is also very proactive in that it will identify current inefficiencies and then recommend solutions that will save the company money.

Technology drives business and vice-versa. This dependent relationship means that IT experts are always looking for new ways to improve processes and business is constantly looking for better ways to utilize its IT functions. According to Lincoln Computer Services, “The interaction between IT and business will only escalate as technology develops and IT professionals around the world are constantly keeping and eye out for the solutions that will change the way we do business.”
