When implementing a system if IT governance, the IT professionals in a company look at the dynamic of how the IT systems supports the needs of the company. The IT group also looks at how the needs of the organization, its shareholders, and its customers should be driving advances in IT architecture and development.
For example, if customers indicate that there is inefficiencies in the company’s online ordering system, then the IT governance system would kick in and analyze the current process and make recommendations to improve it. IT governance is also very proactive in that it will identify current inefficiencies and then recommend solutions that will save the company money.
